The Ohio Highway patrol says one man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle Sunday morning on state Route 3 in Wooster Township.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. north of Heyl Road.

The patrol says the victim, believed to be around 30 years old, was walking north on the state route when the driver of a Chevy Equinox also heading north struck him.

The man, who was wearing a red sweatshirt and black pants, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 63-year-old Wooster woman, was not injured.

The section of the state route was partially closed for several hours.

The patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
