Pedestrian struck, killed while trying to cross Route 516 in Old Bridge

OLD BRIDGE - A 62-year-old township man was killed while trying to cross Route 516, police said.

The Old Bridge Police Department is investigating the fatal crash that occurred at about 10:49 p.m. April 4 on Route 516 in the area of White Oak Lane, police said.

Pedestrian Charles P. Breitweiser III was attempting to cross Route 516 when he was struck by a 2015 black Chevrolet Silverado.

Breitweiser was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
