Another home game for the Philadelphia 76ers, another opponent who enters the game very short-handed.

As the Sixers begin a five-game homestand on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, they will face a team missing a large chunk of its roster.

The Pelicans were already down Zion Williamson, who hasn’t played all season due to injury. On Tuesday, they also will be without Brandon Ingram, Devonte’ Graham, Josh Hart and Jonas Valanciunas. Ingram is averaging 22.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists, so that is a big hole in New Orleans’ lineup. Valanciunas was the Pelicans’ best chance to defend Joel Embiid.

The Sixers have struggled against short-handed teams at home this season, the latest example being Friday’s collapse to the Los Angeles Clippers, but this gives them another chance to get it right. The Sixers knocked off the Pelicans on opening night in October. With Ingram and others out, this gives the Sixers a chance to build more momentum.
