Pelosi raised a very important question at White House DACA discussion: ‘Do the women get to talk around here?’

Sometimes, politicians ask the right questions.

During a White House dinner Wednesday night over discussion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, a protective act put in place by President Obama to keep "Dreamers" safe from immigration agents, the conversation apparently was flying back and forth between 10 male officials and the only woman invited.

According to The Washington Post, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was being talked over for the duration as she tried to speak up about making a deal with President Trump to protect thousands of immigrants who came to America as children from deportation.

So, she interjected with a very important question: “Do the women get to talk around here?”

Pelosi was trying to answer a question made by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross on President Trump's democratic deal with DACA and border security, however, she was interrupted and spoken over by the men present.

Of the 11 people asked at the table, Pelosi was the only person interrupted.

In order to get their attention after speaking over her, she then asked, "do the women get attention around here?" which effectively got them to quiet down.

After interjecting once, according to the Post, there was a moment of silence and she was not interrupted again.
