Pence aide tests positive for coronavirus

Mike Pence's chief of staff, Marc Short, has tested positive for coronavirus, a spokesman for the vice president said on Saturday (October 24).

In a statement, Devin O'Malley said Pence and his wife had both tested negative adding that Pence would maintain is schedule.

According to CNN, a source claimed that Marty Obst, who serves as Pence's senior political adviser but is not a government employee, tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.

The United States broke its daily record for new coronavirus infections on Friday (October 23) as it reported 84,218 new cases due to outbreaks in virtually every part of the country, according to a Reuters tally.

That spike comes less than two weeks before the November 3 presidential election and is hitting battleground states such as Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
