Penn Cambria board elects officers, sets meeting dates

Dec. 7—CRESSON, Pa. — The Penn Cambria School District board has a new slate of officers after Tuesday's reorganization meeting.

Michael Sheehan was elected board president, Rudy McCarthy was elected vice president, Matthew Kearney was elected secretary and Jeffrey Stohon was elected treasurer.

New board members Anthony Dziabo and Cindy Sheehan-Westrick were given the oath of office by District Judge John Prebish, who also presented their certificates of election to Superintendent William Marshall. The certificates will be on file at the district office.

The board set its meeting dates for 2024.

Members will meet as a committee of the whole at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, except for July, when there will be no committee meeting, and December, when the committee meeting will precede the board's reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 3.

The full board will meet on the third Tuesday of each month, except July and December. The July meeting will be held July 24 and the December meeting will follow the committee-as-whole meeting on Dec. 3.

The board also recognized students who successfully auditioned for District 6 Honors Band and will perform at Greater Johnstown High School in January. They are Allison New, Hailey Farabaugh, Ariane Eckenrode, Mya Weisinger, Kassidy Adams, Jada Nagle, Emma Hazlett, Christina Myers and Camryn Ashworth.
