Penn State football tickets are now on sale. Here’s how much single-game tickets will cost

Single-game tickets are now on sale ahead of Penn State football’s 2023 season.

The 2023 Rose Bowl champions will kick off their season at home against West Virginia before hosting six more opponents at Beaver Stadium throughout the fall. Although the season won’t start until Sept. 2, sales for single-game tickets and parking passes launched Thursday morning.

If you’re thinking about heading to Happy Valley to watch the Nittany Lions this fall, here’s what you need to know.

Ticket and parking pricing

Through the online Ticketmaster platform, Penn State employs a dynamic pricing system that raises ticket prices relative to demand and seat location. Generally, you can expect to pay far more for home games against Michigan and West Virginia than the Nittany Lions’ late-season matchup against Rutgers.

Both direct and resale ticket prices will likely fluctuate throughout the year. For now, prices for games featuring non-conference opponents like Delaware and UMass start at around $60, while more anticipated matchups against Michigan and West Virginia are already seeing rates starting near $200 and $300 per ticket through Ticketmaster.

Additionally, prices for parking vouchers will also vary. Parking lot passes for Penn State’s games against Rutgers and Indiana start at $50, but that starting point raises to $80 for the team’s high-profile contests against Michigan and Iowa, among others.

What about student tickets?

Sold separately from tickets for the general public, season passes for students get their own weeklong sale later this summer.

Graduate students will exclusively have the first opportunity to purchase season passes when they open the annual sale July 17. Each Penn State class will follow in descending order, seniors through freshmen, until the sale concludes July 21. All sales begin through Ticketmaster at 7 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. or when allocated tickets sell out, but you can almost certainly expect the latter to happen within minutes.

Sale dates for undergraduate students are determined by credits earned through June 30. You’d be wise to double-check your academic standing to ensure you don’t mistakenly miss out on your sale. Seniors can’t buy tickets during the freshman class’s sale, for example.

Student season passes grant admission to all seven Penn State home games. They will cost $246 each — unchanged from the last two years.

What’s new at Beaver Stadium in 2023?

Back in March, Penn State announced plans to construct a “Legacy Plaza” outside Beaver Stadium along Curtin Road. The project will include plaques outlining the Nittany Lions’ 100-plus seasons and fan-purchased bricks with personalized inscriptions.

The plaza is expected to help raise money for Penn State Athletics. When sales launched, costs for pavers ranged from $350 for a 4x8 brick to $1,000 for a 12x12 brick.

Construction for the stadium’s newest exterior feature is expected to wrap up in time for the Nittany Lions’ season-opening game against West Virginia Sept. 2.

Those visiting Beaver Stadium’s concourse will likely notice the newly announced “Tunnel Club” — a pair of new spaces in the south tunnel entrance that will give fans a new look at Penn State’s pregame routine. Access to the space costs $10,000 annually and does not grant admission to games, though an open bar, free food, private restrooms and Wi-Fi service are included.

Although Beaver Stadium’s impending renovations made headlines this spring, nothing is expected to change for fans this season.

In May, university trustees approved spending $70 million to fund the first phase of the stadium’s renovations, which will cover design costs, “winterization” (including improved insulation, drainage and plumbing) and field lighting, among other upgrades. Penn State officials remain in the design process for now, but construction on the first phase of renovations is expected to conclude by August 2027.

By the end of the project, Penn State expects to spend $700 million upgrading Beaver Stadium’s concessions stands, restrooms, concourses, seating and more.
