Penn State frat suspended for 7 months. Here are all the fraternities still under suspension

Another Penn State fraternity has been suspended by the university.

The Gamma chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho (322 Fraternity Row, State College) agreed to a monthslong organizational suspension that will continue through Aug. 12, the university said in a news release that was updated Monday. The frat was suspended when last fall, while it was already prohibited from hosting social events due to “organizational misconduct,” it allegedly hosted an unauthorized event in November.

A suspension does not mean a shutdown. As a result of its punishment, Alpha Gamma Rho temporarily loses all rights and privileges as a recognized student organization. That means it cannot participate in or organize any functions or activities, including university-wide events such as Thon, until the suspension is lifted.

“Both the local chapter and the Alpha Gamma Rho National Fraternity have been working closely with the Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Response to develop a comprehensive reeducation plan to realign the chapter with the fraternity’s values and principles as well as the university’s expectations for student organizations,” the university said in a written statement. “The National Fraternity has agreed to facilitate educational opportunities for individual students who wish to continue their membership with the group when the suspension is lifted.”

According to Penn State’s Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life, nine fraternities at University Park are now suspended while another two are under interim suspension:
