Penn State men’s basketball add Temple forward Zach Hicks from transfer portal

Penn State has picked up another player to add to its roster from the transfer portal.

Temple forward Zach Hicks announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions Thursday afternoon.

Hicks spent the last two years with the Owls, starting all 32 games he played in during the 2022-2023 season. He averaged 9.6 points per game and made his biggest impact as a 3-point shooter, where he shot 35.6% on seven attempts per game.

The newest Nittany Lions is listed at 6-foot-7, 185 pounds and should help the team on the wing. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

With Hicks on board, the Nittany Lions are now up to six confirmed players on the roster next season. Demetrius Lilley, Kanye Clary and Jameel Brown are set to return from last year’s team, while Ace Baldwin Jr. and Nick Kern Jr. have joined the program from VCU, where new head coach Mike Rhoades coached both of them.

Evan Mahaffey and Kebba Njie are both in the transfer portal, but could return to the Nittany Lions next year.
