Penn State Football: Players who have declared for the 2024 NFL Draft

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WHTM) – Now is the time when college football players across the country decide whether to place themselves in the NFL Draft.

Here are all of the Penn State players who have declared they are entering the draft thus far:

Chop Robinson

Defensive end Chop Robinson announced on Dec. 5 on X that he will declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. Robinson chose to forgo participation in the Peach Bowl.

Robinson started his collegiate career at Maryland in 2021 where he played in all 13 games with one start. Robinson tallied 19 tackles (12 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

The Gaithersburg, Maryland native transferred to Penn State for his sophomore season in 2022. Robinson played in 12 games where he posted 26 tackles (19 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.

This year Robinson has 15 tackles (12 solo), four sacks and two forced fumbles. Prior to the start of the season, Robinson was tabbed to the Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch lists.

Theo Johnson

Tight end Theo Johnson announced on Dec. 8 on X that he will declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Johnson has been with Penn State since 2020 where he played in seven games with one start as a freshman. The Windsor, Ontario native posted four receptions for 56 yards in his first collegiate campaign.

In 2021 Johsnon played in 13 games with six starts where he tallied 19 receptions for 213 yards and his first touchdown.

As a sophomore in 2022, Johnson was tabbed to the Mackey Award Watch List. That season Johnson played in 11 games with nine starts as a tight end. Johnson accumulated 20 catches for 328 yards and four touchdowns. Johnson tied for fourth amongst Big Ten tight ends for receiving touchdowns that season.

This year Johnson played in every game with 32 catches for 325 yards and six touchdowns. Johnson had a long reception of 34 yards at Ohio State.

Johnson also posted one tackle against Indiana this season.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu

Offensive lineman Olumuyiwa Fashanu announced on Dec. 22 that he has decided to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Waldorf, Maryland native has been a part of the Nittany Lions since 2020, seeing his first action on Sept. 11, 2021. In total, Fashanu has played in 29 games for Penn State, starting in all but 8 of those appearances.

Fashanu’s junior season was cut short due to injury after starting eight games at left tackle. Fashanu didn’t allow a single sack in 281 pass blocking snaps during that season. For his efforts, Fashanu was named the coaching staff’s Offensive Player of the Game twice.

This past season Fashanu was named a team captain, started every game at left tackle, and allowed no sacks.

Fashanu was named a William V. Campbell Trophy finalist and a Lombardi Award semifinalist. Fashanu also received a nod as the Outland National Player of the Week on Sept. 26.

Fashanu was crowned a consensus All-American and has received four first-team All-American nods from NCAA-recognized outlets including the Associated Press, the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Sports News and the American Football Coaches Association.

Adisa Isaac

Defensive end Adisa Isaac announced on Dec. 27 on X that he will declare for the NFL Draft.

Isaac has played for Penn State since 2019. In his true Freshman season, he played in 11 games. In his true Sophomore season, he played in all nine games and had 13 tackles and two quarterback hurries.

The Brooklyn, New York native missed the 2021 season due to an injury. In his comeback Redshirt Junior season last year Isaac earned All-Big Ten third-team honors from the coaches and an honorable mention from the media.

Isaac started all 13 games at defensive end and posted 28 tackles (15 solo), a team-high 11 tackles, four sacks, and eight quarterback hurries.

Isaac tied for sixth in the Big Ten in tackles for loss with 11, tying for third among in-conference defensive linemen.

This past season Isaac had 35 tackles (22 solo), 15 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery and four quarterback hurries.

Kalen King

Cornerback Kalen King announced his declaration for the NFL Draft on X on Dec. 31.

The Detroit, Michigan native has played with the Nittany Lions since 2021. In his true freshman season, King played in 13 games with one start where he posted 23 tackles (15 solo), one tackle for loss, five pass breakups and a forced fumble.

In his sophomore season, King played in every game, starting nine at cornerback. King posted 30 tackles (23 solo), three tackles for loss, 18 pass breakups, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

That season King finished as the leader in the Big Ten for passes defended with 21, ranking third nationally and pass breakups. For his efforts, King was tabbed second-team All-America by the Walter Camp Football Foundation along with many other accolades.

This past season the Junior earned first-team preseason All-American honors from the Associated Press, Sporting News and PFF. King put up 29 tackles (20 solo) and two passes defended.

Alex Felkins

Penn State kicker Alex Felkins declared for the NFL Draft on Jan. 4.

During his senior season, Felkins played in 10 games acting as the Nittany Lions’ primary placekicker in the latter nine. Felkins went 22 for 18 on field goals with one block. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native had a long of 50 against Indiana.

Felkins had nine kickoff attempts this campaign that totaled 585 yards.

This was Felkins’s first season with Penn State. Felkins spent 2019-2022 with Columbia where he was chosen as a first-team All-Ivy League honoree in 2022 and earned Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week three times in his tenure.

Daequan Hardy

Penn State cornerback Daequan Hardy declared for the NFL Draft on Dec. 21.

This season was huge for Hardy who tied Penn State’s record for most punt return touchdowns in a season with two. Both happened in the game against UMass and Hardy became the first Nittany Lion to ever have more than one punt return for a touchdown in one game. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native is just the 25th player in FBS football and the second in the Big Ten to complete the feat.

Hardy was named Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week after the UMass game.

Hardy has been with Penn State since 2019, appearing in his first game in 2020 as a Redshirt Freshman. That season Hardy played in nine games and accumulated 10 tackles (8 solo), three pass breakups, a sack, and a quarterback hurry.

In 2021 the 5’9″, 178-pound cornerback played in 13 games with one start, serving as the Nittany Lions primary nickel cornerback. Hardy tied for 12th in the conference in passes defended (9) and 15h in pass breakups (7).

In 2022, Hardy served in every game at nickel corner where he posted 13 tackles (9 solo), a half sack, a forced fumble, an interception, and four pass breakups. Hardy also returned two kicks for 28 total yards.

his season Hardy played in eight games with one start. He totaled 13 tackles (8 solo), three tackles for loss, and seven pass breakups. Hardy had nine punt returns for 171 yards and two touchdowns.

Trey Potts

Penn State running back Trey Potts announced on Instagram Thursday that he is declaring for the NFL Draft.

Potts transferred to Penn State in 2023 from Minnesota. From 2019-22 with the Golden Gophers Potts played in 22 games and rushed 232 times for 1147 yards and 10 touchdowns. Potts had nine receptions for 37 yards, two kick returns for 42 yards and six punt returns for 65 yards.

This season with the Nittany Lions, Potts rushed 21 times for 132 yards, had one pass completion for 11 yards and one touchdown, three receptions for 27 yards and one tackle.

The NFL Draft will take place from April 25 to April 27 in Detroit.
