Penn State running back Noah Cain has transferred to LSU after three years with the Nittany Lions.
Cain is a Baton Rouge native and a former four-star recruit out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
The 5-foot-10, 208-pound Cain set a Penn State freshman record with eight rushing touchdowns in 2019. He said he will graduate from Penn State and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Cain had 350 rushing yards and four touchdowns while averaging 3.5 yards per carry in 2021. His career total at Penn State was 806 yards (4.2 yards per carry) and 12 touchdowns. He joins an LSU backfield that is expected to return freshmen Corey Kiner and Armoni Goodwin, junior John Emery Jr. and sophomores Tre Bradford and Josh Williams.
But the Tigers lost their top rusher, Tyrion Davis-Price, after he declared for the NFL Draft ahead of LSU's bowl game against Kansas State.
Cain is the sixth player to transfer to LSU since the hiring of new coach Brian Kelly. He joins cornerbacks Greg Brooks Jr. from Arkansas and Mekhi Garner from UL, Arkansas safety Joe Foucha, FIU offensive tackle Miles Frazier and East Carolina long snapper Slade Roy.
