Penn Station East Coast Subs launches new location in Springfield

Folks seeking a mouth-watering hot sub with an east coast flare should head over to one popular sandwich franchise's new Springfield location.

Fast-casual restaurant chain, Penn Station East Coast Subs, announced the opening of its Springfield location, the 15th store to open in the Nashville area.

“We love to see our franchisees continue to grow their portfolios,” Penn Station East Coast Subs Founder and CEO Jeff Osterfeld said in a press release.

“It’s a true testament to the dedication we have to our franchisees when they continue to want to work with us and grow together. We’re excited to see how the new location in Springfield will serve the community.”

Owners of the new Springfield location, Don Robinson and Jerry Ayres, are experienced franchisees with the popular sandwich chain and other restaurants.

Having owned and operated other Penn Station East Coast Subs locations in the area, Robinson and Ayres have also franchised with Zaxby's and Parlour Pizza + Pints, according to the press release.

“There’s a reason I’ve been a franchisee with Penn Station East Coast Subs for 23 years — it’s a great concept, restaurant and business. I helped build out the Nashville market, and I’m excited to see where else Penn Station can take us,” Robinson said in a press release.

“With our combined franchise and restaurant experience, it was a no-brainer to open another Penn Station East Coast Subs location, and Springfield is the perfect spot,” Ayres said in a press release.

Confident the new location will be a hit with locals, Robinson and Ayres are looking forward to serving the community its well-known sandwiches like the Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Teriyaki and Italian Sub.

Known for its made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches, hand-cut fries and fresh-squeezed lemonade, the sandwich chain began in Dayton, Ohio in 1985 and now includes more than 300 locations across 15 states.

As the franchise continues expansion in the southeast, the Springfield location is only the latest in a series to open in the region, according to the press release.

Other locations to recently open include Clinton, Tennessee, and Dallas.
