Pennsylvania Hospital Cheers Boy Ringing Bell to Celebrate Beating Cancer

The staff of a children’s hospital cheered a young boy as he rang a bell to celebrate being cancer free in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on May 2.

Ahkeem Mims was seven years old when he went to hospital in August 2021 with what his parents thought was only a sprained ankle. They were shocked when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. A GoFundMe page they set up has raised over $56,000.

Ahkeem previously went viral when he donated gifts to his fellow patients and when his father shaved his head in solidarity with his son. Credit: Lee Lockett via Storyful
