A Pennsylvania man pleaded guilty Friday to threatening to kill a member of Congress and his staff.

Joshua Hall made the threats against Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) while he was waiting to be sentenced in a fraud case — for impersonating former President Donald Trump’s family to raise money for a fake organization.

Hall, 22, of Mechanicsburg, admitted to calling Swalwell’s West Coast office from Yonkers on Aug,. 29 and saying he would find and “beat the s—t out of” him. His guilty plea to making interstate communications with a threat to injure carries up to five years in prison.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said Hall chose to threaten someone “whom he disliked rather than attempting to effect change through any of the freedoms of expression that all Americans enjoy.”

Swalwell tweeted about the calls after it happened.

“I hesitate to share this but how else do I tell you we are in violent times, & the architects are Trump & McCarthy. Bloodshed is coming,” Swalwell tweeted on Aug. 30.

Rep. Swalwell expressed his gratitude for the law enforcement agencies that nabbed Hall, including the Yonkers Police Department.

“Politics can be polarizing, but we must never normalize or tolerate death threats,” Swalwell said. “Today, MAGA political violence is at peak level in America and it’s going to get someone killed. I urge GOP leaders to denounce the violence.”

An attorney for Hall did not return a call seeking comment. He faces 20 years behind bars in the fraud case against him.
