Pennsylvania State Police SUV runs stop sign, hits another vehicle in Mercersburg

A Pennsylvania State Police vehicle involved in a pursuit ran a stop sign in Mercersburg and hit a vehicle driven by a Waynesboro woman at 2:21 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The 2020 Ford Explorer driven by Trooper Spencer A. Taylor, 31, of Chambersburg was southbound on Icehouse Lane when it failed to stop at a stop sign, according to a state police report.

The Explorer hit a 2014 Nissan Rogue, driven by Lydia Shank, 30, of Waynesboro, who was eastbound on Mercer Avenue, and then struck a “no parking” sign.

Taylor, his passenger Trooper Michael W. Kishbach, 29, of Chambersburg and Shank were not injured, according to the police report.
