Pennsylvania State Police unveils new crime-fighting tool: ‘PSP Tips’

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) announced Thursday the unveiling of “PSP Tips”, a new way for the public to share information and aid law enforcement in active investigations.

PSP Tips includes information on nearly 100 homicides, cold cases, fugitives, and missing person cases, with new cases to be added frequently.

“Assistance from the public is often vital to solving crimes or locating missing or wanted individuals. The social media platforms, the toll-free number, and the online tip form are all easy ways to send us information that may solve a case or get a dangerous individual off the streets,” said Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens, the Deputy Commissioner of Operations.

According to PSP, one tip could provide investigators with a breakthrough that could bring closure and justice to victim’s and/or their families.

Any information submitted to PSP Tips can be provided anonymously if so desired.

Every case PSP seeks the public’s assistance can be viewed on the PSP Tips Facebook page as well as, X, formerly referred to as Twitter.

Both sites provide users with a toll-free number, 1-800-4PA-TIPS (1-800-472-8477), and a link to an online tip submission form.
