Pensacola hospital recognized as leader in cardiovascular care
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Just in time for American Heart Month, a Pensacola hospital has been named one of the nation’s best in cardiovascular care.
Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola — a branch of Ascension Florida and Gulf Coast Hospital — has been named one of the nation’s 50 best cardiovascular hospitals by Fortune and PINC Al.
According to Fortune’s website, the methodology chosen to name the top 50 hospitals “is based on quantitative research that uses a balanced scorecard approach, based on publicly available data.”

Researchers evaluated more than 937 hospitals that treat cardiology patients to determine the best 50.
The 2024 Top 50 list marks the seventh time Ascension Sacred Heart has been named one of the best in cardiology care, according to a press release.
“I’m thankful for the heart team we have here because they are on the front lines helping us achieve this award,” said Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola President and CEO Will Condon. “For over a century, our hospital has cared for our community, and we are honored to continue to serve Pensacola with high-quality and compassionate care.
“It feels incredibly rewarding to see a Pensacola hospital standing out at the national level.”
With February being American Heart Month, hospital officials say the achievement speaks to the hospital’s work in supporting the community’s health.
