Pensacola landed on another 'best cities to live in' list. See how we did:

Scholaroo, a nonprofit educational research company and scholarship website engine, ranked Pensacola as No. 33 on a list of the best U.S. cities to live in, in 2023.

The report, released on Feb. 14, compared 151 cities across 47 metrics distributed in 8 key relevant categories: crime and safety, affordability, economy, quality of life, healthcare, education, opportunity and infrastructure.

To calculate the final score, each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 being the max. Each city's weighted average across all metrics was used to calculate its overall score.

Here’s how Pensacola ranked against the other 150 cities in each category:

  • Crimes and safety — No. 64

  • Affordability — No. 87

  • Economy — No. 62

  • Quality of life — No. 37

  • Healthcare — No. 10

  • Education — No. 61

  • Opportunity — No. 130

  • Infrastructure — No. 12

Pensacola was also ranked No. 4 in the metric that measures the highest number of hospitals in the area, beaten by Naples, Charleston, West Virginia and Lafayette, Louisiana, respectively.

Making Florida's top 10:Pensacola named in Forbes' Top 10 places to live in Florida

In November 2022, Pensacola was ranked as the third best place to retire in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. In the same report, it was listed No. 44 on the Best Place to Live list, No. 6 on Best Places to Live in Florida and No. 17 on Safest Places to Live.

Forbes ranked Pensacola No. 10 on its annual Best Places to Live in Florida review in December 2022.

Pensacola hasn't hogged all the spotlight, however. Money placed Navarre No. 34 on its 2021-2022 Best Place to Live in the United States.

  10. Cambridge, Massachusetts
