A Pensacola man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his next-door neighbor earlier this year, according to a news release from State Attorney Bill Eddins.

Kalvin Allison, 45, was convicted last week of second-degree murder for killing his neighbor Charles Locke, tampering with evidence and three counts of grand theft.

On Monday, Allison was sentenced to life in prison for the crime of second-degree murder with eight years to be served consecutively on the remaining counts.

A woman discovered Locke’s dead body, covered by a tarp, at the end of Idlewood Drive on May 23 while walking her dogs. His wrists, legs, nose and mouth had been bound by duct tape and string, and sheet rock and a kitchen tile were found near the body, according to Eddins.

Law enforcement observed duct tape and string in Allison’s yard that was similar to the tape and string used to bind Locke and sheet rock and tile at Allison’s home that was similar to the sheet rock and tile found near Locke’s body.

“After repeatedly denying involvement, Allison eventually gave a statement admitting his involvement,” Eddins wrote in a news release.

Allison was also seen on Walmart security cameras purchasing a tarp that he would later use to cover Locke’s body, Eddins added.
