Pensacola motorcyclist killed on Gulf Beach Highway after collision with pickup truck

A 41-year-old Pensacola man was killed late Wednesday night when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Gulf Beach Highway in Escambia County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, an 81-year-old Lillian, Alabama, woman was traveling southbound on Plateau Road in a Ford F150 pickup truck at approximately 11:24 p.m. At the same time, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Gulf Beach Highway.

The driver of the Ford failed to yield to oncoming traffic when she attempted to turn onto Gulf Beach Highway, resulting in the pickup truck’s driver side door colliding with the front of the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on the scene by Escambia County paramedics.
