Pensacola ranks in Tripadvisor’s Top 25 Best Beaches in the U.S. list
The city of Pensacola received national recognition when it was named in February the No. 33 best city to live in in 2023. The praise continues this month as Pensacola Beach was ranked in the Top 25 for Tripadvisor’s Best Beaches in the United States list.
Pensacola Beach was ranked No. 20 on the list along with close neighbors Henderson Beach State Park in Destin and Panama City Beach, who ranked No. 7 and No. 18, respectively.

In 2020:Tripadvisor places Pensacola Beach in top 25 U.S. beaches of 2020 list
Tripadvisor releases its annual Travelers’ Choice awards to highlight and award travelers’ favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants and things to do all over the world.
The site ranks candidates in each category based on reviews and ratings collected throughout the year. Review quality and quantity are weighted in the decision and goes through an additional editorial process.
‘Best Beach Towns’:Pensacola named one of the 'South's Best Beach Towns' by Southern Living for 2022
To be eligible for an award, a property, business, destination or point of interest must have been listed on Tripadvisor for at least 12 months, must receive a threshold number of reviews within the evaluation period of that award and must maintain or exceed a minimum bubble rating on Tripadvisor.
Specific award sub-categories may require additional eligibility criteria.
The Travelers’ Choice awards fall into two levels: Best of the Best and Traveler’s Choice. Placing in the Top 25 list means Pensacola Beach is considered the Best of the Best — a feat awarded only to the top 1% of listings on Tripadvisor.
Pensacola Beach is no stranger to the spotlight, however.
In a 2018 USA Today 10Best Readers Choice Awards list, Pensacola Beach was voted the No. 1 beach in Florida, followed by familiar names like Panama City Public Beach, Pensacola Gulf Islands National Seashore and Navarre beach ranking below it in chronological order.
Tripadvisor ranked Pensacola Beach No. 4 on the same list in 2020, saying "the white sand squeaks as you walk." Pensacola Beach is shown with a 4.5 rating out of 5 on Tripadvisor's "traveler overview." A whopping 81% of reviewers rank it as "excellent."
Pensacola was recognized again in March 2022 when it ranked No. 8 on Southern Living’s list of the “South’s Best Beach Towns.”
