Pensacola Waffle House on Brent Lane struck by vehicle; one person injured

One person was injured when a vehicle crashed through the front of a Pensacola Waffle House on Wednesday.

At approximately noon, Escambia County Fire Rescue and EMS units responded to a Waffle House restaurant on Brent Lane in reference to the crash, according to a county spokesperson.

The driver's vehicle had smashed through the glass windows in the front of the building and entered partway into the restaurant. The driver was transported to the hospital. There were no other reported injuries.

It is not immediately clear if the driver was injured in the collision, or if some preexisting medical issue contributed to the crash.
