Investigators requested Smith bring the two children, who were allegedly harmed, to Gulf Coast Kids House for an interview. While being interviewed, an investigator at GCKH noticed bruising on one of the child’s cheek and temple area. They also noticed round marks on the victim’s abdomen and chest.

Another child also had bruising that looked similar along with “whelps and bruises” on their forehead, cheek, both arms and legs, according to the arrest report. Deputies determined those injuries were from a BB gun, according to the report.

Smith was booked into jail at 11:27 p.m. on Thursday.
