Pensacola's Gulf Coast Seafood Market fire 'declared out,' fire marshal investigating

State Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of Monday morning's fire at Gulf Coast Seafood Market on West Nine Mile Road.

Escambia County Public Information and Education Officer Davis Wood told the News Journal that fire crews were working the fire since 9:15 a.m. at the Gulf Coast Seafood Market and Restaurant in the 2200 block of West Nine Mile Road.

"The fire has been declared out," Wood told the News Journal. "Due to the complexity of the building, we're going to send a few stations to periodically check on the building to make sure that any hot spots don't flare up."

Wood said the state fire marshal is on scene and investigating the cause of the fire. He also said there were no injuries, but a cat inside the building died.
