Pentair to close in Brookfield and Pewaukee, resulting in the loss of 210 jobs
Pentair, an multinational water supply, distribution and treatment corporation, will close its facilities in Brookfield and Pewaukee by April 1, resulting in 210 job eliminations.
Pentair's manufacturing facility at 20580 Enterprise Ave., Brookfield, and distribution center at N25 W23040 Paul Road, Pewaukee, will begin eliminating positions Nov. 1.
Layoffs will continue in phases until April, according to a notice filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on Aug 30.
"The company will ensure that all employees will be paid all earned wages and agreed upon benefits at the time of their termination," the notice said.
Job titles' anticipated layoff dates are attached to the notice. Eleven positions, including assembly operator, lean manager and production supervisor, are predicted to be eliminated first.
The closure comes from the decision to "consolidate the manufacturing and distribution center to other Pentair sites," the notice said. Production and distribution will move to existing sites in North America and Europe, according to Rebecca Osborn, external communications manager.
The sites were chosen based on supply chain efficiency and are capable of manufacturing valves and other components for residential water treatment, Osborn said.
"This decision was not made lightly," she said.
Pentair will provide a separation package and identify as many available roles as possible within the company for affected employees, Osborn said.
Pentair still owns an office in Delavan. The corporation's main United States headquarters are in Minneapolis.
