By now we're a few episodes into Mare of Easttown and loving it more and more with every week. The Sky crime thriller has got everyone talking, whether they're drawing comparisons to another hit police drama or simply just saying how much they love it, we personally haven't shut up about it in quite some time. And after the most recent episode, fans can't stop talking about one scene in particular.
In case you need a recap, the series follows local hero and detective Mare Sheehan (played by Kate Winslet), as she investigates the disappearance of a teenage mother amid mounting pressure to solve that and another case which she's been working on for a year. Meanwhile, Mare is struggling with a hectic home life, and must balance the demands of her police work with trying to keep her life from falling apart.
The series has been a huge hit with fans who have loved everything from the gripping drama to the spot-on performances, and one scene from the most recent episode has got everyone singing the praises of Winslet and co-star Evan Peters.
Peters plays Detective Colin Zabel, the county detective called in to assist with Mare's investigation. In this particular scene Colin and Mare get pretty drunk together in a bar, and not only are people obsessed with Winslet and Peters' performances as a duo, they're also very impressed with Peters' drunk acting - which as we all know, is often not done well.
Evan peters and Kate Winslet are already becoming one of my favorite duos they are just brilliant together and their scenes are perfect #MareOfEasttown pic.twitter.com/GDBXIWOLMw

Evan Peters doing “rambling drunk guy as Mr. Brightside plays in the background” is one of the realest drunk bro scenes I’ve seen. A masterclass in the subtle art of quietly embarrassing drunken behavior & Mr. B just rounds it all out. Perfection.#MareofEasttown keeps winning.

Evan Peters deserves an award for being the most convincing drunk in a show that I’ve EVER seen. (also, knew the priest was involved somehow...but I don’t think he killed her, I think it was Mare’s cousin) #MareOfEasttown pic.twitter.com/fEBIG3tANt
