Children’s Home Society appoints David Acevedo as a senior director

David Acevedo was named by Children’s Home Society of Florida as its senior director of children’s advocacy centers and child protection program strategies. Acevedo will oversee the successful operation of all of the organization's Children’s Advocacy Centers and child protection teams, while implementing strategies to ensure more children throughout the state are protected, safe and have the resources they need to realize their full potential. Acevedo previously served as the director of CHS’s Children’s Advocacy Center and child protection team in Bartow, where he oversaw and advanced trauma-informed and child-focused industry standards in child protection services. Prior to joining CHS’s team in 2006, Acevedo was a child protective investigator with the Department of Children and Families. Acevedo holds a master’s degree in human services from Argosy University in Atlanta and bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. CHS is the state’s largest provider of services to children and families.
