People line up for these corn dogs. Now a new restaurant is bringing them to Clovis

Picture a corn dog, but instead of a just a swizzle of mustard on top, it’s got a lot more going on.

The Korean corn dog is rolled in toppings such as cubes of potatoes, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos crumbs, even crispy rice puffs. And its insides can be made with beef or mozzarella cheese — or both. It comes with dipping sauce.

Clearly, this is not your average corn dog. And it’s coming to Clovis.

Two Hands Fresh Corn Dogs has signed a lease to open a location in an outbuilding at Sierra Vista Mall, according to commercial real estate company Retail California. It will be located near the Chicken Shack.

Two Hands confirmed it’s coming, but has not set an opening date yet. It could be several weeks or months away, as construction hasn’t started yet inside the space.

The company is a franchise, with locations in Sacramento, Dublin and Southern California.

What are Korean corn dogs?

Korean corn dogs are popular on TikTok, with plenty of videos showing people biting into gooey dogs with huge strings of stretchy cheese.

K dogs — as they’re often called — aren’t new to Fresno.

Several places already sell them in the Fresno area, including pop-up vendors.

Mochinut at Campus Pointe by Fresno State and Mochilicious at Butler and Chestnut avenues both specialize in mochi donuts, and also the corn dogs.

At Mochinut, K dogs are sold only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting at noon.

Lines of people waiting for them (and the donuts) often form outside the business. At least one Yelp reviewer reported waiting up to 30 minutes in line for Korean corn dogs, though lines typically move quicker.

The toppings on this Korean corn dog at Koco Bell in Idaho are sagging under their own weight. There are no Koco Bells in the Fresno area, but a competing K dog franchise, Two Hands Fresh Corn Dogs, is coming to Clovis.
