People line the streets for annual Fourth of July Parade

Jul. 5—NORWALK — It was a beautiful day for a parade.

The annual Norwalk Lions Club Fourth of July Parade returned Monday after a year off for the pandemic and it honored all front-line workers.

The parade lasted an hour and the streets were filled from start to finish to wrap up the three-day holiday weekend.

Here are the parade winners:

Best commercial float — 1. Bait Brothers; 2. Little City Fitness.

Civic float — 1. Norwalk Eagles Club; 2. Huron County Master Gardeners.

Marching unit (excludes school bands) — 1. American Legion; 2. Northern Ohio FOOLS.

Antique automobile — 1. Jerry Gormley; 2. Maple City Ice.

Most unusual entry — 1. Dan Oney; 2. Old Wrestling.

Horse unit — 1. Huron County 4-H Horse Royalty; 2. Rough Riders.

Drill team unit — 1. Baton Academy Twirlers; 2. Norwalk Middle School.

Clown — 1. Neil Hansberger; 2. Laney the Clown.

Fire Company — 1. Wakeman Fire District; 2. Huron River Joint Fire District.

Best Church Float — 1. St. Paul; 2. St. Peter.

Best Truck Unit — 1. Coles Energy; 2. Marett Unlimited Inc.

Best Business Float — 1. Piney Paradise; 2. Xtreme Fitness and Sports Complex.

Best Youth Float — 1. Norwalk Police (D.A.R.E.) 2; Boy Scout and Cub Scout Pack 208.
