People are pointing out the "double standards" between Love Island's Tommy and Maura
When Maura entered the Love Island villa on Wednesday night, we knew everything was about to get stirred up. 28-year-old Maura made a very bold play for 20-year-old Tommy Fury within seconds of meeting him, and she's remained just as decisive about her intentions ever since - much to the dismay of Molly-Mae.
In last night's episode, Tommy and Maura continued 'getting to know each other'. For Tommy, this meant more cute (if physically impossible) chat about how she turned his head 560 degrees (??). For Maura, it meant laying it on thick. This girl doesn't waste any time.
During a late-night chat, Maura asked Tommy: "What if I asked you to kiss me?"
Tommy replied, grinning: "I'd kiss you... but obviously I want to get to know you."
It seems Maura, however, didn't read that response as, I'll kiss you when I'm ready, and instead took it as a plain and simple, yes, I want to kiss you. Later in the episode, she was shown lying on top of Tommy, trying to get him to kiss her. Tommy, meanwhile, swings his head every which way in order to avoid a passionate embrace.

And the interaction has struck up a bit of a debate among Love Island fans on Twitter about the double standards between genders. Numerous people have suggested after watching Friday night's episode that if it was a man lying on top of a woman trying to get her to kiss him, it would have been deemed sexual harassment - and entirely inappropriate.
Right I'm not being funny but. Maura is 28. Tommy is 20. She is objectifying him, commenting on his body constantly, hasn't mentioned a single thing about his personality AND IS FORCING HIM TO KISS HER. I'm just saying if this was a guy there would be a war #loveisland

Some people described Maura's behaviour as "pushy", and said it made them feel uncomfortable to watch.
I'm still a little shocked over how Maura has acted in this episode. Maybe she thinks this is normal behaviour because it's how she's had to get men in the past 🤷♀️ I don't know, but it quickly went from being straight forward to uncomfortable and pushy... #loveisland

In among the outrage about the perceived double standards between Maura and Tommy, there were plenty of people who continued to back the bombshell, praising her for simply knowing what she wants.
