People on Twitter Are Sharing All the Times They Paid More Taxes Than Donald Trump
Donald Trump is embroiled in several scandals right now—nominating a judge, Amy Coney Barrett, to the Supreme Court against Ruth Bader Ginsburg's final wish, saying he's “entitled” to a third term as president, suggesting there may not be a peaceful transition of power if he loses the election—and he just took another hit.
On September 27, the New York Times revealed Trump's tax return data, and oh boy. The biggest revelation from the bombshell report? Aside from spending $70,000 on his hair for appearances on The Apprentice, the president paid only $750 in income tax in 2016, $750 his first year in office, and paid literally nothing for 10 out of the 15 previous years.
The president is attempting to spin the story, referring to it as “fake news” at a press conference (shocker), mentioning multiple times that the IRS treats him “very badly.”
Unsurprisingly, people have a lot of feelings about this—especially those who pay more in income taxes than the president of the United States. Who could possibly be paying more in income tax than Donald Trump, you may wonder? Let's observe:

An undocumented immigrant. “As an undocumented immigrant, I can now say that I've paid more in taxes than the President,” one Twitter user shared. “According to NYT, @realDonaldTrump paid only ‘$750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency.’ Meanwhile, I paid $1,559.85 in quarterly taxes for Q4 '19."
Teachers. “I only get to write off $250 for school supplies on my taxes when I easily spend $1,000+ every year, and the president only paid $750,” one user tweeted. “Excuse the language but that’s some bullshit.”
