Players from Richwoods, Peoria High and Tremont lead our list for Week 1.

Greg Burnside, Richwoods
The senior quarterback produced both on the ground and in the air for the Knights, who dropped their season opener, 28-26 to Bloomington. Burnside rushed for 63 yards on 16 carries including a 4-yard, first-quarter touchdown. He added a 19-yard TD pass just before halftime, giving Richwoods a 20-14 halftime lead.
Malachi Washington, Peoria High
In his first game as the Lions starting running back, Washington rushed for 235 yards on nine carries and three touchdowns in Peoria High's 34-16 forfeit victory over Metamora. The 5-foot-10, 206-pound senior busted an 85-yard TD at the 5:31 mark of the first quarter, then added a 76-yard score just 38 seconds before the opening period ended.
Ty Fuller, Tremont
After running for nearly 1,000 yards last season, Fuller made the most of his junior debut in Tremont's 14-8 nonconference road win over Sangamon Valley. The 6-foot, 200-pound back tallied 114 yards on 15 carries with a 14-yard score just 2:16 before halftime.
Jerrimiah Flores and Jack Hanley, Peoria Notre Dame
The pair of Irish backs combined for five rushing touchdowns as PND beat Manual, 40-38 on Saturday afternoon at Peoria Stadium. Hanley rushed 16 times for 100 yards and two TDs. Flores, a 5-foot-8, 170-pound senior, scored three TDs to go with 69 yards.
London Toliver, Manual
The junior quarterback threw three third-quarter touchdowns on three successive throws, but Peoria Notre Dame held on for Saturday’s 40-38 win at Peoria Stadium. Toliver hooked up with Carrion Ferrell for scores of 69 and 19 yards, while David Johnson caught a 37-yard TD. He finished 8-for-11 with 293 yards and 5 TDs.
Teegan Davis, Princeton
The all-state QB picked up where he left off last season, rushing for 228 yards in Princeton's 41-22 road win over Taylor Ridge Rockridge. Davis rushed 14 times, scored a pair of second-half TDs and threw a one-yard TD pass to Augie Christiansen. He finished 4-for-8 with 69 passing yards.
Kamren Schumacher, El Paso-Gridley
A big second-half from the junior quarterback helped propel EP-G to a 51-26 nonconference home win over Macon Meridian. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder guided the Titans to 31 second-half points including a three-yard, go-ahead TD rush to open the second half as well as a 30-yard TD pass to Dante Golden. Schumacher finished with 239 total yards (139 passing 100 rushing) as El Paso accounted for 360 yards.
Brent Denniston, Deer Creek-Mackinaw
The junior running back wasn't quite enough as Colfax Ridgeview/Lexington beat the Chiefs, 21-8. Denniston, which accounted for 102 of Dee-Mack 199 rushing yards, didn't find the end zone but helped keep it a five-point game at halftime.
Rohman Mitchell and Aidan Frail, Elmwood/Brimfield
Mitchell and Frail each scored two TDs in Elmwood's 48-14 route over Illini West. The senior pair — Mitchell, a 5-foot-5, 155-pounder, and Frail, listed at 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds — were two of four offensive scorers to go with Bailey Elwell and Bo Windish. Gavin Buhl added a 72-yard interception return for a TD.

Dane Olson, Havana
Olson rushed for 196 yards and three TDs as the Ducks gave first-year head coach Kolton Hammond his first victory, 26-6 over the Lewistown/Valley/Cuba Miners. The senior running back rushed 17 times and scored from 43, 3 and 70 in the 98th meeting of the Stone Axe rivalry. Havana and LVC each have won 48 times with two ties also coming in the series.
Carson Gold, Eureka
The speedy receiver may have great hands, but his leg is equally important to Eureka's success. In the Hornets' 25-7 win over Canton, Gold kicked a pair of second-half field goals as well as went 6-for-6 on kickoff touchbacks. His field goals were from 24 and 25 yards out, respectively. Mason Boles was the offensive catalyst, rushing for 117 yards.
Kanye Tyler, Pekin
The senior all-area running back went off for three rushing touchdowns — 11, 1 and 47 yards — in a 56-20 nonconference victory over Rock Island at Memorial Stadium in Pekin.
Nate Dennison, Illinois Valley Central
The quarterback threw for 251 yards and a pair of touchdowns in IVC's 28-20 loss to Paxton-Buckley-Loda. Receiver Gabe Ross had six catches for 112 yards and a TD, while David Russell added five catches for 68 yards and a score.
Luke Rewerts, Stark County
The Rebels quarterback was 5-for-5 for 120 yards and two touchdown passes in a 49-21 win over Nokomis. Rewerts also led SC in rushing, rolling up 65 yards and a score. Daniel Kieser caught four passes for 84 yards and a score. Connor Wagenbach added a 36-yard receiving TD.
