The Peoria Civic Center is generally the place to be when there's a major event in town.

Established in 1982, the venue is host to hundreds of events each year boasting over 100,000 square feet in exhibit space, according to the website.

The Peoria Civic Center not only hosts an arena and a theater, but the site is home to Ameren Illinois Broadway In Peoria, Bradley Braves men's basketball, Peoria Ballet, the Peoria Rivermen and the Peoria Symphony Orchestra.

What are Peoria Civic Center box office hours?

The Toyota Box Office is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday. The box office will also open 90 minutes prior to the start of a show on event days.

The box office will accept cash, American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa, but will not take checks.

Phone calls are not accepted by the box office. All questions or issues are directed to the venue's online form for Peoria Civic Center Customer Service.

What is Carver Arena?

Carver Arena is where visitors to the Peoria Civic Center can see sporting events, concerts and trade shows. The 27,400-square-foot floor can host up to 140 booths and the concourse can accommodate an additional 70 booths for trade shows.

What is the Peoria Civic Center seating capacity?

This depends on the event and venue inside the Peoria Civic Center.

Carver Arena can hold up to 11,900 attendees, according to the venue website. Meanwhile, the theater offers three levels of seating via the orchestra, first balcony and second balcony. Total capacity of the theater sits at 2,173.

Peoria Civic Center parking and directions

Parking at the venue has gone completely cashless and has two lots — the Marquee Lot and the Fulton Lot.

The Marquee Lot is located at 201 SW Jefferson Ave., just off of Klumpf Boulevard. This lot makes sense for visitors to Carver Arena, the ballroom, the Lexus Club, exhibit hall D, the box office and administrative offices.

The Fulton Lot is located at the corner of Fulton and Monroe streets. This lot is best used for patrons using Carver Arena, the theater, exhibit halls A through C and meeting rooms 135 through 222.

When heading to the Peoria Civic Center, remember that the Bob Michel Bridge is closing to all vehicular traffic at the lights at River Road in East Peoria and Southwest Adams Street in Peoria for eight months beginning Monday, March 13.

No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the venue and all concession purchases are cashless.

Mobile ordering is available via DoorDash inside Carver Arena. Customers can open the app or scan the QR code inside the venue. After the order is prepared, customers will be notified to skip the line and pick it up.

Cashless transactions and mobile concessions aren't the only things to be aware of before visiting the Peoria Civic Center.

There are plenty of other tips to know, such as patrons are no longer required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to attend events.

There is also a clear bag policy. Besides being clear, regulations require the bag to be a 1-gallon plastic bag or a clear bag that does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” in measurement. One small clutch not larger than 5” x 8” is also permissible.

There is an exception on diaper bags for children 3 and under or bags with medically necessary items. Such instances will require the bag to be searched by security.
