Peoria's Tuesday Morning store is closing. Here are the details

PEORIA — The Tuesday Morning store in Peoria is closing.

"A lot of customers aren't happy about it, and neither are the employees," said assistant manager Michelle Wilkinson, who has worked at the store, 1401 W. Glen Ave. in Peoria, for nine years.

The last day of business for the Peoria store is March 31, Wilkinson said.

This is the second home goods retailer to announce plans to close stores in Peoria this month. Bed Bath & Beyond released a list of store closures Feb. 7 that included the Peoria store, located at 4800 N. University St.

The Peoria Tuesday Morning is one of five stores in Illinois and 264 nationwide that the chain is closing, according to an announcement on the corporation's website. Locations in Springfield and Champaign are also set to close.

Tuesday Morning, a discount home goods and decor retailer with more than 400 stores across the U.S., filed for Chapter 11 on Feb. 14. It's the second time it has filed bankruptcy — the first time was in 2020, according to RetailDive.
