Who is performing concerts in Columbus this week? 21 Savage, Lorde, Duran Duran and more
Last week, Columbus was buzzing with great concerts such as Kendrick Lamar, Kenny Chesney, The Kid Laroi and many others.
But there's another big week of concerts coming.
With two music festivals this weekend featuring 21 Savage, Lorde, The Chainsmokers and many others, there are plenty of reasons for music lovers to spend money on tickets. Still, there are loads of other concerts during the week that are deserving of your attention.
Sometimes it's hard to keep track of everything that is going on. That's where we come in. We have you covered with concerts from many different genre's and venues.
Lee DeWyze, Aug. 22, at Rumba Cafe
Winner of the ninth season of "American Idol" in 2010, DeWyze has carved out a good career for himself and just released his latest single "Bridges" in May. He'll play at 8 p.m. Monday at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St., bringing a big name in the pop genre to Columbus, one who is talented enough to play the piano, bass, drums and more.
Lauv, Aug. 23, at Kemba Live
Fresh off the release of his second studio album "All 4 Nothing," Lauv will play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kemba Live, 405 Neil Ave. Fun fact: Lauv spent two of his four years as a studio intern for Jungle City Studios where Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys recorded. The American singer will make his appearance with Hayley Kiyoko.

Thundercat, Aug. 24 at Kemba Live
A frequent contributor with Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller, who passed away in 2018, Thundercat will bring his talented bass skills to Kemba Live, 405 Neil Ave., on Wednesday. Doors for the concert will open at 7 p.m.

Free TVs plays Nirvana 'Nevermind' with Space Kid, Aug. 25, at Rumba Cafe
Want a throwback to Nirvana's album "Nevermind" from 1991? Free TVs, with Space Kid, will play through the album at 7 p.m., Thursday at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St. The album, which went gold and platinum, drew rave reviews at its release and is still fondly remembered with Variety calling it "an overnight success."

Robert Mason Trio, Aug. 26, at Natalie's Grandview
The Columbus native plays at Natalie's Grandview, 945 King Ave, often and will be back at 6:30 p.m., on Friday. A pianist and teacher in Columbus, Mason has built a strong following for his music and is a popular act each time he plays in town.

Friday-Sunday: Breakaway Music Festival featuring 21 Savage
The three-day festival will begin at 4 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Historic Crew Stadium, Interstate 71 near East Hudson Street. Along with 21 Savage, who will perform on Sunday. Friday-Sunday: Wonderbus Festival featuring Lorde
This weekend is a strong one for festivals, as the Wonderbus Festival is going to three days for the first time in its three-year history. It will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, then at noon on Saturday and Sunday. It will feature a Friday night show by Duran Duran, Lorde on Saturday and the Lumineers on Sunday, among many others. Jake Miller, Aug. 27, at A&R Music Bar
Miller, the winner of the 2011 Samsung and T-Mobile USA national "Kick It With the Band" talent competition, will play at 7 p.m. Saturday at A&R Music Bar, 391 Neil Ave. Miller once opened for Mac Miller and performed alongside Flo Rida and Sean Kingston.

Rema, Aug. 28, at The King of Clubs
The Nigerian singer and musician will play at 7 p.m. Sunday at the King of Clubs, 6252 Busch Blvd. He broke onto the music scene after a viral video of him freestyling to D'Prince's song "Gucci Gang" was seen by D'Prince. The Nigerian singer flew Rema to Lagos soon after to offer him a record deal, which he signed. His album "Rave Roses" released in March of 2022.
