Here are the top 3 stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Doctor warns of false-negative on-at-home COVID Tests. "Unfortunately, if I just give you the home test....and say, 'go at it, read the instructions, do the best you can,'... you miss about 36 out of 100 positives," said Phoenix ER Doctor Frank LoVecchio, on AZ Family. According to the report, progress on testing methods is essential to the new covid pill that must be taken immediately following symptoms. In addition, accurate, timely testing can help stop the spread. (Arizona's Family)

  2. Flight delays and canceled flights were the stories at Sky Harbor on the day after Christmas. The Fox 10 reporting said, "According to FlightAware.com, there were more than 4,000 delayed flights across the United States and 1,100 cancelations. Sky Harbor saw more than 120 delays and over 21 cancelations." According to the report, the airlines named the omicron variant for staffing problems exacerbated by a previous lack of available workers generally, as the cancellations culprit. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)

  3. Banner Health Family Medical Specialist Dr. Andrew Carroll shared his concerns about the surging Omnicron variant with KPNX news. The report said that 2,440 patients were hospitalized in AZ late last week because of the virus. Carroll predicts a rapid spread and that testing sites like those provided by Embry's Women Health will make a difference if invected patients temporarily remove themselves from the population. "Perhaps we'll be in a different situation next holiday season, where everyone can celebrate and not have to worry so much," he said. (12news.com KPNX)
