Permian Playhouse to host special production of 'Las Nuevas Tamaleras'
Sep. 14—For more than 24 years, this charming Christmas play has entertained audiences in San Antonio and, this week, Odessans will get a chance to enjoy it.
"Las Nuevas Tamaleras" comes to the Permian Playhouse for two shows this week, beginning with a 7:30 p.m. Friday and a 7:30 p.m. show on Saturday.
The play consists of the character of Silvia, Josie and Patsy in their comical attempt at their first tamalada while the spirits of Dona Mercedes and Dona Juanita add to excitement and drama as they join the new tamaleras in an amusing power struggle about whose recipe makes the perfect tamale.
