Perry County baseball players earn SE District honors

All three Perry County baseball teams had players receive Southeast District honors, as teams were selected by the district coaches.

Sheridan's Caden Sheridan and New Lexington's Tatem Toth made the Division I-II East first team, along with Marietta's Malachi Morton, Jackson's Bryson Brown, Caeleb McGraw and Holden Blankenship, Athens' Derrick Welsh, Gallia Academy's Zane Loveday, Fairfield Union's Ronnie Rowley, Warren's Caleb Davis and Logan's Simon Pierce.

Sheridan's Blain Hannan and Coyle Withrow earned second-team accolades with Gallia Academy's Maddux Camden, Vinton County's Dawson Brown and River Hayes, Warren's Trent Taylor, Marietta's Westin Davis, Logan's Colin Cook and Athens' Landon Wheatley.

New Lex's Isaac McGill, Fairfield Union's Malachi Palmer and Warren's Hayden Pelletier received honorable mention.

Special Mention included New Lex's Hunter Kellogg and Donovan Shriner, Sheridan's Corey Amspaugh and Sam Taylor, Jackson's Drew Bragg, Marietta's Kevin Wallace and Jonah Emery, Warren's Hunter Vincent, Gallia Academy's Dalton Mershow, Vinton County's Bryant Brisker and Jarrett Wells, Athens' Jude Wakeman and Jake Goldsberry, Logan's Kaiden Patton and Owen Angle and Fairfield Union's Wyatt West and Owen Morgan.

In Division III, Crooksville's Ethan Sprankle made first team with Fairland's Tyler Sammons and Blake Trevanthan, Oak Hill's Rylan Sams, Meigs' Ethan Stewart and Drew Dodson, River Valley's Mason Rhodes, Ironton's Trevor Kleinman and Jon Wylie, Wellston's Jeremiah Frisby and Logan Martin, Rock Hill's Isaiah Kelly, Alexander's Jace Ervin, Federal Hocking's Ethan McCune and Nelsonville-York's Hudson Stalder.

Second team featured Crooksville's Austin Love, Rock HIll's Tyler Brammer and Trent Williams, Dawson-Bryant's Connor Harrison, Fairland's Cooper Cummins, Alex Rogers and Brycen Hunt, Belpre's Lucas Fullerton and Christopher Copen, South Point's Blaine Freeman, Ironton's Brady Moatz and Nate Bias, Chesapeake's Nick Wright and Oak Hill's Gavin Howell.

Special mention went to Crooksville's Noah Dickerson, Belpre's Matthew Deems and Noah Fullerton, Oak Hill's Dylan Venegas and Isaiah Needham, Rock Hill's Tristan Pemberton and Jaedon Stevens, Ironton's Jacob Sloan, Alexander's Dylan Phillips, Meigs' Theron Eberts and Caleb Burnem, Wellston's Zach Wilbur and Austen Fetherolf, River Valley's Braden McGuire and Cole Johnson, Chesapeake's Hayden Blankenship, Federal Hocking's Mason Jackson, South Point's Nakian Dawson, Dawson-Bryant's Landon Johnson and Fairland's Connor Sansom.

The Southeast Academic All-District team included Toth, Kellogg, Mason Pyle, Joe Stenson and Garrett Blosser from New Lex and Sheridan, Withrow, Hannan, Amspaugh, Ryan Kuhn, Blake Turnes, Jake Paxton, Reid Packer, Josh Eden, Austin Clifton, Jarrett Thorne and Colin Duffey from Sheridan.
