PERRY TWP. – Police are investigating a Thanksgiving Day shooting that left a Stark County man in Aultman Hospital's emergency room.

Officers were called at 5:35 a.m. Thursday to the hospital in response to a man with a gunshot wound, Chief Michael Pomesky said.

The injury did not appear to be life-threatening. The man's condition was not available on Friday.

Pomesky said officers had difficulty initially determining the location of the shooting "due to the level of cooperation" from the victim. But they now believe the shooting happened in the 4000 block of Richville Drive SW.

The chief asked that anyone with information about the incident call detectives at 330-478-5121, ext. 1.
