Perrysville's Smeltzer earns outstanding student honor at ATI

WOOSTER − Katelynn Smeltzer of Perrysville was recognized as an outstanding student at the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute. She will graduate Saturday with an associate of science degree in animal sciences with a specialization in animal industries.

Seltzer is the recipient of numerous scholarships, including the Ohio State ATI Scholarship.

She has been active on and off campus with organizations such as the Learning Lab, for which she serves as a tutor; Youth Equestrian Development Association (YEDA); 4-H, for which she serves as president and recreation officer; and a Jr. Fair Board, for which she serves as a member.

Following graduation, Smeltzer will transition to the Mansfield campus to complete a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education, with the goal of becoming a math or science teacher. After being employed as a teacher she plans to work with 4-H members to help them with projects.
