The man who drowned at a Butler County nature preserve has been identified.

The Butler County coroner said 21-year-old Joel Vasquez-Diaz of Dayton died in an accidental drowning Tuesday evening at Antenen Nature Preserve at Four Mile Creek MetroPark.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office assisted fire personnel at the park on Treiber Road in St. Clair Township, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

The man was reportedly fishing and swimming with a group of people when he dove into Four Mile Creek and did not resurface.

Personnel were able to pull the man from the water, but lifesaving measures were unsuccessful. Detectives and the Butler County Coroner were investigating.
