Update: Gulfport man charged with manslaughter in crash near Edgewater Mall

A Gulfport man is charged with manslaughter after speeding in a parking lot near Edgewater Mall Monday.

Biloxi Police said Joshua Ray Bullock, 42, of Gulfport was driving a blue Volkswagen Jetta at a high rate of speed in the parking lot at around 3:04 p.m. He lost control of his car and struck a parked vehicle.

The victim was trying to enter the parked vehicle at the time of the crash, police said.

Bullock was charged with manslaughter (culpable negligence). Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set bond at $500,000 and Bullock was taken to the Harrison County jail.

Biloxi motor officers, patrol officers, crime scene investigators and criminal investigators responded to the scene.
