Person of interest in Darke County double homicide arrested in Illinois

Apr. 14—A man identified as a person of interest in a double homicide investigation in Darke County has been arrested in Illinois, the Darke County Sheriff's Office announced.

The sheriff's office said that the Chicago Police Department had Adam J. Uchyn, 39, in custody on a felony probation warrant out of Darke County. The warrant isn't related to the homicide investigation.

Darke County Sheriff Mark Whittaker identified Uchyn as a person of interest in a double homicide investigation around noon on Friday. The office said that it was notified of the arrest at 9:15 p.m.

The Darke County Sheriff's Office thanked the Chicago Police Department and Elmhurst, Illinois Police Department for assisting them locating Uchyn.

Deputies found a man and woman dead early Friday morning when they responded to a house in the 4200 block of Weavers-Fort Jefferson Road in Neave Twp. after two women came in to the sheriff's office just before 5 a.m. to report the deaths.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Uchyn lives in the house where the double homicide occurred, the sheriff said.

The sheriff's office said that the case is still early in its investigation and updates would be provided as the case progresses.
