Person jumps from 3rd-floor window to escape raging Brockton blaze

A person is recovering in the hospital Tuesday morning after being forced to jump from a window to escape a fast-moving fire at a home in Brockton late Monday night.

That fire broke out at a multi-story home on Warren Avenue around 11 p.m.

When firefighters arrived they were met with heavy fire shooting out the windows on all floors and witnessed one resident jumping to escape the raging blaze. That person was transported to a local hospital. Their condition is unknown.

A witness told Boston 25 that the victim jumped from a third-floor window.

There were seven others living in the building as well. They all escaped unharmed.

Brockton Fire Chief Brian Nardelli said some of his crew were injured in the blaze, but none of those injuries are considered serious.
