Lip Lab opened its latest location at Fifth + Broadway on June 3.

The Nashville Lip Lab boutique is the concept shop’s tenth retail location in the U.S. and Canada since it opened ten years ago.

Fashion Valley in San Diego was a recent Lip Lab opening alongside the international outpost Bon Marche in Paris, France.

Other popular stores are based in the New York neighborhoods of Soho and Williamsburg in addition to Dallas and Las Vegas.

Lip Lab provides the unique experience of creating a custom lipstick all in a single visit. Customers can stop by individually or in groups for birthday celebrations or bridesmaids parties, for example.

In short, Lip Lab prioritizes capturing memories in a tube of a special one-of-a-kind hue.

Another plus is that Lip Lab solely uses clean and vegan formula. The component is also refillable, ensuring each product is environmentally friendly.

In-store Color Experts are tasked with navigating customers through 29 pigments, four flavors and three finishes. Go-to shades range from reds to nudes, but many varieties of bold or simple tones can be made.

The steps to bringing a lipstick to life at Lip Lab are as follows:

1. Curate your shade

No matter what color one finds inspirational, it can be individualized and brought to life in lipstick form.

2. Choose your finish

Matte, satin or sheer options can be picked from.

3. Add your flavor

Opt for fruity, floral or fresh.

4. Name it and engrave it

Come up with what to call the lipstick. Then, specialized technology will be used to engrave the name into the lipstick packaging.

“We are so excited to be in Nashville to create custom lipsticks with you. You get to customize the shade, the finish, the flavor and you can name it, and you can always reorder that same shade, and we'll ship it to you wherever you are, even if you're not in Nashville,” said Color Expert Joshua Barry.

One custom lipstick costs $60 per person. Each additional custom lipstick for same person will add an extra $40 to the total cost.

Lip Lab Nashville is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 5036 Broadway Place.
