Pet store returning to Tallahassee, this time on the west side
Pet lovers on Tallahassee's west side will soon have a one-stop location for all their needs with the return of Pet Supermarket.
The Sunrise-based retailer previously operated a storefront at 1482 Apalachee Parkway, which is now permanently closed and home to Fallout Comics. However, it's returning to the capital city at the WestEnd Square shopping center off West Pensacola Street.
Floors are being installed this week, said Dylan Leoni, director of development for Student Housing Solutions, who manages the shopping center.
"They are going to have a dog wash station where you can become a member," Dylan Leoni, director of development for Student Housing Solutions, who manages the shopping center. "Students have a lot of pets. I think this will serve a great purpose there, especially since we don't have any large pet supermarket like a PetSmart or Petco in that area."

The Tallahassee store is slated to be about 8,000 square feet and set to open next month.
Pet Supermarket sells more than 8,000 pet care products and services, including professional grooming, on its website and maintains more than 200 stores in a dozen states nationwide.
It also offers a "Pets in the Classroom" grant for educators interested in buying and maintaining small animals for Pre-K through ninth grade classes. According to the company website, teachers receive a discount voucher for a pet and a voucher for food and supplies needed to take care of the new classroom addition.
