Pet Supermarket’s sixth annual thanks for giving fundraiser to support local rescues and shelters

Pet Supermarket’s annual Lend a Paw: Thanks for Giving fundraiser returns Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022.

Since 2016, the specialty pet supply retailer has used the fundraiser to provide homeless animals with much-deserved care ahead of the holiday season.

Last year, Pet Supermarket collected more than $280,000 in donations from communities it serves throughout the U.S. Southeast.

“As rescues and shelters continue to fill with pets, we recognize the burden many of these caretakers are facing,” said Aileen Bilyeu, vice president of marketing at Pet Supermarket. “We hope to alleviate some of this pressure to provide high-quality food, clean water and expert care through our annual Lend a Paw: Thanks for Giving fundraiser.”

During this year’s Lend a Paw: Thanks for Giving fundraiser, Pet Supermarket customers will once again be encouraged to make monetary donations at checkout. Proceeds will be evenly split among 12 recipient rescues and shelters across the retailer’s service area.

“We’ve expanded the fundraiser’s footprint to include two more communities we’re proud to serve – Camden, South Carolina, and Houston, Texas,” said Bilyeu. “However, our role as a resource for pet parents ensures customers can continue supporting homeless animals by donating at any of our locations.”

The month-long Thanks for Giving fundraiser is part of Pet Supermarket’s Lend A Paw charitable giving initiative, which has raised over $750,000 in the last year for local rescues and shelters. Other philanthropic efforts include Pet Supermarket’s fundraisers with The United States War Dogs Association and Southeastern Guide Dogs, two organizations making a positive impact on the lives of animals. In addition, the retailer has mobilized to provide relief to the four-legged victims of Hurricane Ian along with the parents and shelters that care for them.
