Pet Valu To Close Wyckoff Location, 357 Others

WYCKOFF, NJ — Pennsylvania-based pet store brand Pet Valu will close all 358 of its U.S. storefronts and warehouses, including in Wyckoff.

The company cited a "severe impact" from COVID-19 as a primary driver for the decision to "wind down" operations in the U.S., including Wyckoff's Franklin Avenue location.

"The Pet Valu U.S. team is proud to have met the needs of our devoted pet lover customers in the U.S. for more than 25 years. However, the Company's stores have been significantly impacted by the protracted COVID-19-related restrictions," said Jamie Gould, Chief Restructuring Officer of Pet Valu Inc. "After a thorough review of all available alternatives, we made the difficult but necessary decision to commence this orderly wind down."

Online sales have ended as of November, but stores are scheduled to host closing sales "in the coming days." U.S. customers will still be able to use Pet Valu gift cards and loyalty rewards for purchases.

Pet Valu Canada, a separate company based in Ontario, will not be impacted by the closures, according to the company.
