Pet of the Week: Tazz the dog is a strong contender for your new best friend

The Pet of the Week is Tazz, a male bulldog/American Staffordshire mix, who is about 5 years old.

Tazz is such a cute guy and has the biggest smile and a tail that wags nonstop when he's happy. He makes all of the staff at the Taunton Animal Shelter smile in return when they see him.

He is a strong boy and needs someone with breed knowledge and some training experience. He can be very protective of toys and has a tendency to pull on the leash — because of this, the shelter recommends no small children. He absolutely loves playing with toys.

Walking Tazz with an easy-walk harness and martingale collar makes it easier and more enjoyable for both of you. He enjoys the play yard, but is happiest when there is someone for him to play with.

The shelter recommends a home with a fenced yard — he would not be suitable for an apartment.

Tazz seems to get along with most dogs, but would prefer a home with no cats.

He does have some skin issues — the shelter recommends a good-quality, grain-free dog food that specializes in skin sensitivity and is low calorie.

Tazz is a great boy who will fill your home with love, laughter and companionship.
