Pete Carroll updates Seahawks injury situation ahead of Giants contest

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll provided a number of injury updates ahead of the Week 13 contest between Seattle and the New York Giants.

While no players were officially ruled out on the injury report, three were listed as doubtful to play: cornerback Tre Flowers, running back Travis Homer and OT Brandon Shell.

“He came out of the game with his hamstring tight, did the MRI and he’s got something that we have to deal with,” Carroll said of Flowers. “It’s not a serious hamstring injury, but it’s enough to really bother him this week, and to expect for him to turn around and bounce back around this week is a lot to expect. We’ll see what happens. We’ll take him all the way up to the weekend.”

As for Shell, he’s not likely to play either, although he has made some improvement with his ankle injury.

“Brandon kind of made a turn where he’s really starting to move now,” Carroll told reporters Friday. “It would be a surprise if he can play on this weekend, but he’s getting real close. I would think he has really turned the corner to get well here.”

There is some potentially good news for the defensive line, however, as Carlos Dunlap is questionable for Sunday despite not having practiced this week.

“We’ll find out about Carlos Dunlap here at the end of the week,” Carroll said. “He was pretty bright-eyed about it today. We’ll see what happens.”

Here’s a look at the complete injury report from Friday.
